Pete’s Oven 70 fire pit includes a flat table top lid and the Swing Arm BBQ Rack. Underneath the bowl is oven space which can be used for warming if you’ve made a small fire above or for pizzas and roasting if you get a large fire burning for approx. 60 minutes in advance.
For best results for the oven, build a large fire and light at least 60/90 minutes before cooking so the heat from the fire bowl can heat your oven. Keep the door closed until the oven has reached your desired temperature. We advise removing any leftover ash from the fire pit before cooking.
Accessorise your fire pit
To increase the cooking experience, we have also designed our Up-Down Swing Arm BBQ Rack which gives the ultimate versatility as it allows you to adjust the height giving you maximum cooking control. Have a look at our Accessories section where you’ll find lots more useful extras for cooking over and managing your fire. Choose from our practical accessories such as our Fire Pit BBQ Gloves or the Ash Rake, which is great for moving hot embers around to facilitate cooking.
With so many recipe books on the market you can never be sure what will cater to you. Well, we love both Charred and Foolproof which are BBQ inspired books written by Genevieve Taylor. Charred being Veggie based and Foolproof for the meat lovers among us, there is something for everyone.
Personalise your fire pit
Do you want to personalise your Pete’s Oven 70 fire pit and make it stand out? Customise your fire pit with either decorative band running around the top or a personalised plaque or both! Choose from the Mosaic band, Indian band or Feather band as shown in the images. Personalising your fire pit with a brass plaque can mark a special occasion. Add that extra touch as a gift or simply as a bit of fun. Use a mixture of upper and lower case and be as creative as you like with your chosen text; ‘Cheeky’ or ‘Cheesy’, make it your own!
Maintaining your fire pit
NB: All our fire pits, lids and accessories will begin to rust immediately and will not maintain their black finish. However, this will not affect their long term durability. As all our fire pits are handmade from sheet steel which has naturally occurring blemishes, there may be very slight variations in the forging and finish. To prevent the hinges on the oven door ceasing, please ensure they are oiled regularly with 3 in 1 oil. If possible, remove the door and store indoors during the winter months.
