There are several factors that make up the perfect pizza, but like any building blocks, you have to start from the bottom up. We all know that when it comes to pizza, a soggy bottom just won’t do! Starting from the bottom up, you make… decorate … and bake.

We don’t claim to be professional by any means, but we do have a few secrets up our sleeve to ensure you get that crispy base. A hot surface and a quick cook are very important so ensure your oven and pizza stone are hot enough. Using a wood-fired oven, we suggest going back to basics with a traditional pizza dough of water, flour, salt, and yeast. Designed to cook quickly, it shouldn’t burn at high temperatures.

Choose your crust from thin, thick or stuffed. If making the dough is not your thing, don’t be afraid to buy your base and get creative with your toppings. Be careful not to overdo the sauce; be it BBQ or tomato you don’t want too much. You could even go naked and just focus on the cheese. Don’t limit yourself to one variety, mix it up and max it out. We won’t judge you! In our eyes you just can’t have too much cheese; mozzarella, cheddar, pecorino, gorgonzola, we love them all. But not all at once, because we all know that too much cheese can give you nightmares… both in the oven and out!
